Tochal

A 3,900 m ridge on the edge of a city of nine million

Unverified

The technical detail for Tochal has not been checked by a local pilot yet. Treat everything here as background reading, not as a site briefing. Fly with someone who knows the site.

Tochal tops out at roughly 3,900 m directly above northern Tehran, which makes it a genuine oddity: serious mountain terrain you can reach on public transport from a capital city. The proximity is the attraction and the complication — the airspace over the basin below is busy.

Editor’s note — fill the sections below from local knowledge, then set verified: true in the frontmatter.

Flown one of these sites?

This is a reference, and references get better by being corrected. If a season is wrong, a launch has moved, or a site is missing entirely, tell us — and if you can verify the technical data for a site, that is the most useful thing anyone can send.
